Universe n- u·ni·verse

  1. All existing matter and space considered as a whole; the cosmos. The universe is believed to be at least 10 billion light years in...
  2. A particular sphere of activity, interest, or experience.

For those of you who don't know: Surprise!

I made it to compete in the regional competition for Miss Universe Canada,
and from there the top 12 of 33 girls were selected to move on to the National competition next year.
It was such a whirlwind experience that I probably would not have experienced if not for my incredible family, supportive friends and generous sponsors.
Between now and the pageant we have the opportunity to organize events for the SOS childrens charity, which I'm sincerely looking forward to!
It's crazy to have made it so far, and with such an amazing group of women!
Thank you so much to all of our mentors, organizers family and friends!
It's been a trip so far and can't wait for more:)

I would lilke to especially thank The Bochner Eye Institute for their support and kind words:)
Providing top of the line lazer eye surgery from the best in Toronto and the GTA

As well as the lovely Naturally Petite Boutique Fashion for the Savvy Petite
Gorgeous fashions and accessories with one on one style matching services that can be enjoyed naturally petite or not!

& the incredibly kind: Paris Fashions for supplying my mermaid dress!
Incredible customer service and a dizzyingly fantastic selection of evening wear for any night out

And of course everyone at Beauties of Canada for making all of this happen!

Au·drey-noun [aw-dree]

a female given namefrom Old English words meaning “noble”and “strength.”

Le sigh. I was all too happy to sit front row with the likes of project runway winner Evan Bidell, Mis Style and Jay strut. I'm snap happy.

The neutral and pastel palette was right on trend with fashion week this spring. Colour is out. Unless of course it's red; Keveza's neutral lace and pastel blue confections were punctuated by the odd red dress for kick; cus you know that show goers love a bit of drama. The best part were the details, like the line of crystal buttons down the back of one wedding dress; like a glamorized Miss Mary Mack. Or the subtly pink mermaid trail wedding gown covered in cut outs of tiny flowers from bodice to hem. In closing, Kevez'as S/S 2011 show gets four sigh of longing out of five. I wonder how many brides are looking at a turquoise gown for the trendiest of weddings this season?

backstage with models Sierra (far right) and company @ LG fashion week

The street style for fashion week is unparalleled. Everyone was in towering heels and stop-you-in-your-tracks pieces that they probably wouldn’t wear on the streets if it were just a regular Wednesday. Some of my favourites were the fierce Jay Strut, fashion blogger and party goer extraordinaire. Numi, an adorable fashion student from Ryerson U and I bumped into the gorgeous (and tall!) Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha and her husband backstage.  Fashion week is an amazing experience inside and out from backstage to the runways, getting to see it from all sides was a fantastic experience.
